Virginia Beach, Va. - The mother of the 15-year-old boy involved in a sex scandal with a former Beach school security guard spoke about the incident only to NewsChannel 3.
"She preyed on my baby," said the mother, whose name NewsChannel 3 is not revealing. "Why my son?"
Police say Patience Perez, a 22-year-old wife and mother of two, met the boy while working as an assistant security guard at Renaissance Academy in Virginia Beach. By March, police in Norfolk and Virginia Beach arrested her for sleeping with the boy and using him to plan her husband's murder.
"Had this plot gone through, my son wouldn't have a life," the mother said. "She pulled him in by saying her husband was abusing her. She preyed on my son's compassion."
The boy's mother met Perez, who she said tried to pass herself off as an older student at Renaissance. She said the affair unraveled when her son got kicked out of school in March.
"The school called to check on him, and I told them it's a 22-year-old lusting after my son. Her name is such and such. I mispronounced the name. The counselor corrected me on the name. She said, 'Oh my God, she doesn't go here. She works here,'" the mother said.
Mom started digging through her son's belongings for answers.
"That's when we discovered naked pictures, and the first picture I hit, it was her," says the mother.
Tonight on NewsChannel 3 at 11, find out why the mother believes Perez had contact with her son after the first arrest in Virginia Beach.
