The Gloucester couple serving 30 years in prison for nearly starving their daughter to death was back in court Tuesday morning to face homicide charges in the death of their son.
Brian and Shannon Gore are facing felony homicide and child abuse charges in the 2008 death of their son Connor. Authorities found the boy's remains buried under the Gore's shed in 2011, when they also found their daughter locked in a makeshift cage.
Murder charges against the Gores had been dropped years ago due to lack of evidence, but new homicide charges surfaced last month. While Gloucester prosecutors would not confirm what new information led to the charges, NewsChannel 3 did confirm the boy's remains were sent to the Smithsonian to help determine how he died.
