Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected and transported to a nearby hospital. The passenger of the motorcycle, 27-year-old Kjersti Lynn Dean, received severe head injuries as a result of the crash. She was admitted to the hospital where she later died on April 30th.

After a thorough investigation and after consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney, an arrest warrant was obtained for the victim’s husband, 27-year-old David Wayne Dean.

Dean was arrested and charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter on February 3rd.

The investigation revealed that alcohol was involved on Dean’s part and neither occupant of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
