Two arrested for April shooting at Norfolk BP gas station

Norfolk, Va. – Two men have been arrested for an April fatal shooting that took place near the BP gas station at 800 E. Brambleton Avenue.

Aldin Mitchell, 25, and Santonio Barnes, 22, were taken into custody on Friday, August 21st by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Norfolk Police Department’s Fugitive Unit.

Norfolk Police identified Mitchell and Barnes as suspects on Thursday and warrants were issued charging them both with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Mitchell was spotted Friday morning in downtown Norfolk. Police were able to take him into custody in the Berkley area.

Barnes was spotted a few hours later on the steps of an apartment complex in Berkley. He was quickly apprehended as well.

Both are being held at the Norfolk City Jail.
