Virginia Beach, Va. (WTKR) - A deadly Virginia Beach school bus crash in October that killed a Navy sailor is still under investigation.

On the morning of October 22, Virginia Beach police say Christian Montes, 27, was standing outside of his disabled car on Holland Road when a Virginia Beach school bus hit him.

Montes died at the scene.

35 students were on the bus headed to Bayside High School. 11 were taken to area hospitals where they were treated and released for minor injuries.

Macie Pridgen, Public Information Officer for the Virginia Beach Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, says Beach police have made an initial screening of the case with her office, but the investigation is not complete.

Pridgen says they are waiting on additional information from Virginia Beach Police before deciding whether or not any charges are appropriate in the case.
