Hampton, Va. - An all-morning search for the body of a man spotted floating in the water between the HRBT and Fort Monroe was called off just after 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

The first officers on scene also spotted what appeared to be a man’s body in the water
Fishermen who work the area say strong currents probably hurt the efforts to retrieve the body

And in Newport News, police are still trying to ID a man found floating in Peterson’s Yacht Basin in September 2012.
