Haden Conrad appeared from jail for his video arraignment in Chesapeake criminal court this morning.  The married pastor is charged with computer solicitation of an minor under 15 years old.

NewsChannel 3 obtained court documents describing the sting operation that led to Conrad's arrest.

Documents say a female Spotsylvania County deputy posed as a 14-year-old girl in a Yahoo! chatroom.

The affidavit said Conrad, under the username "chiefmojorisin420", messaged the girl and said he lived about 2.5 hours away.  It also said Conrad asked the girl to send a picture "to make sure she wasn't a 50-year-old fat guy".  Documents said Conrad "continued to ask her for pictures" and talked about "meeting" and "picking her up".

The affidavit said Conrad then masturbated on a web camera for who he thought was the 14-year-old girl.

According to his bond sheet, Conrad's been the pastor of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church for two years.  He's married with two foster children and used to volunteer as a chaplain for the Chesapeake Police Department.

The 32-year-old will have a preliminary hearing next month.
