Police capture fugitive in Newport News
On Thursday, a fugitive NewsChannel 3 featured as one of the Peninsula’s most wanted was arrested.
Tyrek Allen was taken into custody on Traverse Road in Newport News.
Allen is accused of two shootings this past July. One person on West Queen Street in Hampton survived.

Police say on the same day, Allen shot and killed a man in Newport News.
That’s not all. Allen was also wanted in connection with a triple shooting in Newport News back in February.
Newport News chief of police says he’s just glad to have finally caught up with Tyrek Allen.
Police are now looking for Floyd Taybron, the man police say was with Allen during one of the July shootings.
