Hampton police searching for two men wanted in Saturday shooting

Hampton, Va. – Hampton Police are searching for two suspects in a shooting on West Queen Street on Saturday afternoon.

After receiving multiple 911 calls around 3:24 pm, officers arrived to find a 20-year-old Hampton man suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower torso and hand.

He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that the victim was in the 1300 block of West Queens Street when a vehicle occupied by two men approached the victim and fired multiple shots.

The men have been identified as Floyd Lee Taybron, a 20-year-old Hampton man who resides in the 400 block of Greenbriar Avenue and Tyrek Allen, a 19-year-old Newport News man that resides in the 700 block of Waterfront Circle.

Both suspects have warrants on file for one count of Maiming, one count of Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and one count of Shooting from a Vehicle.
