19-year-old convicted felon wanted for murder in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – Police in Newport News and Hampton are searching for the man suspected in three different shootings in the two cities, two of which occurred on Saturday.

19-year-old Tyrek LaQuann Allen of Newport News is wanted for murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for a homicide in the 700 block of 36th Street in Newport News Saturday night.

Allen is also wanted in connection with a Saturday afternoon shooting in Hampton.

Allen is also wanted on three counts of malicious wounding and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony from his alleged involvement in a triple shooting in Newport News which occurred at 33rd Street and Marshall Avenue on February 21, 2012.

Newport News police received a call about Saturday’s shooting around 9:36 p.m. When officers arrived they located a 22-year-old Hampton man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, arms, and legs.

Police learned that the victim was in the 700 block of 36th Street when he was approached by two men who fired multiple rounds at the victim.

The victim’s identity will be released once the next of kin are notified.
