Virginia Beach fire crews respond to early morning house fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Fire crews responded to a house fire that happened at 1000 Neptune Avenue in the Macdonald Park subdivision around 4:00 a.m.

Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk crews arrived to a heavy fire at the front of house.

Firefighters have marked the fire as under control at this time.

All occupants exited the home. However, a woman was taken to Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services to be treated for possible smoke inhalation. One dog is deceased.

No firefighter injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and is still under investigation by the Virginia Beach Fire Marshal’s office.

The Virginia Beach Fire Department urges everyone to have working smoke detectors inside their homes and to check them once a month.
