Three displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Three people have been forced out of their home after a fire in the 700 block of Wood Duck Lane Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the home in the Deep Creek section of the city at 4:19 p.m., arriving on scene minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the house.

Crews from Fire Station 8 deployed hand lines and were able to quickly bring the fire under control at 4:33 p.m. The residents were able to get out of the home before firefighters arrived.

No one was injured during this incident.

The family is making their own lodging arrangements.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
