A fire Wednesday night in the Lindenwood area of Norfolk is under investigation.
Just after 6:35 p.m., crews were called to the 2400 block of Middle Avenue for a fire, according to Norfolk Fire-Rescue. When they got to the scene, they saw flames and smoke coming from a home.
The call was upgraded to a second alarm shortly after due to the fire's proximity to another home to the left.
The home where the fire started was vacant and the nearby home was also evacuated.
