PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Crews responded to the 1000 block of Martin Avenue for a report of a house fire at 11:53 p.m., Tuesday.
On arrival, crews found a home under renovation with heavy fire showing from it. Crews went in with a defensive strategy due to the heavy fire involvement.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, reports say. The fire was marked under control at 1:03 a.m., Wednesday morning. One Firefighter was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Portsmouth Fire Marshall's office is currently investigating the cause.
