CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Four adults and one child were displaced after a fire damaged their home in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake Sunday afternoon.
According to the Chesapeake Fire Department, firefighters received a call for a fire in the 1000 block of Woodsman Reach at 12:47 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene minutes later, they found smoke coming from the home's second story.
The fire was called under control at 1:18 p.m.
The home's residents were not at home at the time of the fire, and the family's dog was located by firefighters and removed to safety.
The fire's cause was determined to be accidental.
Firefighters are working with the family to determine lodging arrangements.
