SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews responded to a house fire that killed several animals and displaced 3 people Saturday.
Crews responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Kingsdale Road of the Kingsdale neighborhood around 8:22 p.m.
Officials say there was no one at the residence when firefighters first arrived.
Multiple pets were killed in the fire, including 3 dogs, 7 kittens, and 5 snakes. Three adults were displaced.
One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. The fire was called under control at 9:42 p.m., officials say.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
