Parents are invited to bring their children out for a parent-child “date night” at the movies, a program that Cinema Cafe has dubbed Little Date Night.
Cinema Cafe Kemps River in Virginia Beach and Cinema Cafe Edinburgh in Chesapeake will each host a special Little Date Night showing of Dolittle on Tuesday, February 11 at 6:15 p.m. The movie will be followed by a Valentine’s Day Ice Cream Social with a sundae bar, which attendees can partake in for a small additional fee. Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will benefit Variety, the Children’s Charity. Tickets are on sale now at this link.
Cinema Cafe’s Little Date Night enhances an early dinner show of a family-friendly movie with a few extra special features. “Our Little Date Night program gives parents an opportunity to make fun, lasting memories with their kids, which has always been part of our mission and values at Cinema Cafe,” says Events Director Brittany Meadows.
Before the movie, a kid-friendly activity or craft is included in the event; February’s event will be Valentine’s Day themed. Parents can also purchase a special ticket to attend the Ice Cream Social immediately following the end of the movie, which includes a collectible Variety Gold Heart pin, and two cups of ice cream for our sundae toppings bar. Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social support Variety, a Children’s Charity, allowing parents an opening to discuss charitable contribution and social impact.
Variety, a Children’s Charity is rooted in the entertainment industry, as it was founded by 11 theater owners and showmen in 1927. The organization that provides aid to children with disabilities and special needs who may fall through the cracks of government funding or other aid. Cinema Cafe has been a long-time supporter of Variety because the funds raised by Cinema Cafe stay in the region to help children in their community. The Ice Cream Social ticket includes a collectible Variety Gold Heart pin.
