Firefighters battle flames at former school in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – Firefighters in Norfolk spent Saturday evening putting out a fire inside a former school building.

According to Norfolk Fire-Rescue, the call for the fire came in around 5 p.m. at a former school on Carolina Avenue.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to put the fire out. Initially, firefighters thought the fire was much larger than it actually was.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
