Man suffering from life threatening injuries in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. - Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 3:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Childs Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene to find a 48-year-old man outside of a home suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment for injuries that are said to be life-threatening.

Police say the suspect is described as a black man with dreads; he was last seen in a blue vehicle.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
