Chesapeake Police investigating after teenager suffers gunshot wound to the head

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Police in Chesapeake are investigating after a teenager was found with a head injury Sunday afternoon.

The teen was taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk.

Police say that around 1:30 p.m. they responded to the 2300 block of Herring Ditch Road after reports came in about the injury.

On Tuesday, Chesapeake Police confirmed that the teen suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Police are still investigating whether the injury was accidental or on purpose.  Police believe the teen is still in the hospital.
