CHESAPEAKE, Va. – One person has died following a single-vehicle accident on I-64, according to Virginia State Police.
The accident happened on Wednesday around 10:41 a.m. east of Route 17.
Police have identified the driver as 50-year-old Karen Lisa Richey.
She was driving a Nissan Xterra when officials say she ran off the road and hit several trees. Richey died from her injuries at the scene.
Officials said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.
