Western Branch Intermediate School evacuated for smoke smell

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Western Branch Intermediate School was evacuated for a short time Tuesday morning.

The school evacuated the students after a smell of smoke was reported.

The fire department responded and found a light smell of an electrical odor. They identified that it came from some work being done on an HVAC unit on the roof.

Fire crews deemed the building safe and students reentered.
