SUFFOLK, Va. – A death investigation is underway in Suffolk after a body was found in the water near the base of the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel on Wednesday morning.
Police have identified the man as 40-year-old Adam Lee Meeks.
Virginia State Police say they received a call reporting the body in the water around 10:30 a.m.
They have since said the victim’s kayak was found nearby and that he was not wearing a life jacket.
No foul play is suspected, according to police.
