Virginia Beach Fire Captain helps raise $6,000 for wife of Norfolk firefighter

NORFOLK, Va. - The wife of a Norfolk firefighter, Christy Montoya was badly burned in a Roanoke house fire in February.

When the Virginia Beach Fire Department heard her story, they knew they had to take action for the family.

The fire department teamed up with the Sons of the Flag organization to raise $6,000 for the family.

They received the check on Saturday.

Sons of the Flag works to support military members, first responders and civilian burn survivors.
