Man arrested for double shooting that left one dead in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Police have arrested a man for a double shooting that ended the life of 26-year-old Christopher Washington

Washington and another man were shot in the 900 block of Suburban Parkway on October 27.

Martario D. Gee was arrested on charges of murder and assault.

Martario Gee, of Portsmouth, had been identified as a suspect in the shooting and a police officer spotted him in a vehicle Thursday around 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Green Street.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and took Gee into custody without incident.

Gee has been charged with murder, felonious assault, two charges of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
