PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Departmental Enforcement Center (DEC) is set to conduct an onsite review of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

The DEC is conducting the review to evaluate the Authority’s Board of Commissioner’s ability to govern, examine financial operations and review the Authority’s policies and procedures.

The Director of the Portsmouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority, Hal Short, was fired in August.

The review will begin on December 5 and will extend through December 8.

All public housing representatives with management and financial knowledge of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority must be available to help with the DEC’s review.
