DUCK, N.C. – A surfer was injured by an unknown marine animal on Wednesday, according to the Town of Duck.
Safety personnel responded to a 911 call at 2:23 p.m. at the beach in Sound Sea Village.
A 21-year-old man was injured from a bite to his foot as a result of an encounter with a marine animal.
The surfer was treated at the scene and transported to the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head for further treatment.
