Police arrest Hampton shooting suspect

HAMPTON, Va. – Police have arrested a man connected to a shooting that happened Saturday evening.

Steven Davon Holiday, 25, was arrested early Tuesday in connection with a shooting that happened in the 2100 block of Kecoughtan Road.

Around 6 p.m., police received a call about person who walked into Sentara Careplex with a gunshot wound.

When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the victim was sitting in his car when the suspect came up to the vehicle, pulled out a gun and fired one shot towards the vehicle, hitting the victim.

The suspect ran away from the scene.

Holiday has been charged with one count of maiming, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
