Crews work to clean fuel spill in water near Hampton University

HAMPTON, Va. – Fire & Rescue crews were called to assist with a fuel spill Monday afternoon due to a sunken boat.

Around 3:45 p.m., Hampton Fire & Rescue tweeted that they were at the campus of Hampton University working to mitigate the hazard to the environment.

The fuel spill took place in the waters next to campus in the 400 block of E. Queen Street.
