ODU beats UMass 36-16 for third straight win

NORFOLK, Va. - Jeremy Cox rushed 24 times for 162 and a pair of touchdowns as Old Dominion stretched its winning streak to three games with a 36-16 victory vs. UMass.

In a contest moved-up 22 hours due to expected impacts from Hurricane Matthew, ODU out-gained the Minutemen 522 yards to 396. The Monarchs limited UMass (1-5) to 2-of-12 on third and fourth down conversions.

ODU QB David Washington completed 20-of-35 passes for 248 yards and a score.

The Monarchs are 4-and-2 on the year at the season's halfway point. ODU is off next week before travling to Western Kentucky and UTEP in back to back Conference USA road games.
