YORK COUNTY, Va. – A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after shooting her husband in Williamsburg Sunday afternoon.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says deputies and medics responded to the shooting call at a home in the 100 block of Burgundy Road at 3:03 p.m.

First responders arrived within three minutes of the initial call and found a man dead from a suspected gunshot wound. The victim’s wife, who also lives in the home, was immediately detained.

Deputies have identified the victim as 32-year-old Giancarlo Difazio.

The woman, 32-year-old Lynn Fogarty, was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to authorities, the incident appears to be domestic in nature. Both Difazio and Fogarty lived in the home.
