Brad Pitt spoke with Los Angeles authorities recently about an incident involving one of his children with Angelina Jolie, who filed for divorce this week.
TMZ reports that the alleged incident took place last Wednesday on a private jet in which Pitt allegedly "got wasted and went wild", screaming and getting physical with the kids. Witnesses say he continued his rants on the tarmac, and tried leaving in one of the fuel trucks.
After the plane landed, someone who witnessed the situation anonymously reported the incident to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, which opened an investigation.
The incident is what reportedly was the final straw for Jolie to file for the divorce on Monday.
“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” a source close to Pitt told TMZ. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
"LAPD is not handling any report of allegations of child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt," LAPD Officer Jenny Houser told CNN.
A spokesman for LA County Children and Family Services, Armand Montiel, added that "DCFS is not allowed to confirm or deny any subject of allegations."
"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids," Pitt said. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
