VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Aquarium Stranding Team responded to the beach in Sandbridge where a baby sperm whale was stranded Wednesday afternoon.
The whale was alive when the stranding team arrived but it was very weak.
A small crowd gathered as the team worked.
The team made the decision to euthanize the whale.
The whale is being taken for testing to help determine the cause of the stranding.
