CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Timothy McClean has a message for his son’s killer.

“Whoever did it, you know you killed a good person,” McClean told News 3’s Brian Hill in an exclusive interview earlier this week.

McClean’s son, 25-year-old Timothy Crosky was shot in broad daylight in the 1200 block of Bell Tower Arch just before 5:30 pm on August 17th.

Timothy Croskey (25, Chesapeake) was shot to death outside his home in the 1200 block of Bell Tower Arch.

Timothy Crosky (25, Chesapeake) was shot to death outside his home in the 1200 block of Bell Tower Arch.

Officers found Croskey lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Crosky, who also went by the nickname Pacman, later died at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital as a result of his injuries.

“If you know something, say something. If you see something, say something. Don’t let him die in vain,” McClean pleaded to the public.

Now, police are joining McClean’s plea. Chesapeake police have released surveillance video to local media outlets in the hopes someone can identify the man they think might be responsible for Crosky’s murder.

In the surveillance video, which was given to police by a neighbor, a skinny man with black dreads, wearing all black, can be seen getting out of a grey Dodge sedan missing a rear right hub cap and a left front hub cap.

The suspect walks in the direction of Crosky’s house before going off camera. A few minutes later, the suspect can be seen running from Crosky’s house in the same direction he came from.

But police are not just look for the man with dreads because of the surveillance video. This vehicle – the one the suspect got out of – is also linked to the victim.

According to search records uncovered by News 3’s Merris Badcock, police think the vehicle with the missing hub caps is registered to a man related to Crosky’s ex-girlfriend.

Court records say witnesses told police Crosky’s ex-girlfriend threatened “to kill him over the phone” the day he was shot.

Two and half hours after Crosky’s murder, search warrants say police located a Dodge sedan with the same missing hub caps in the 1700 block of Chesapeake Drive. The area is about five minutes by car from Crosky’s home.

Police filed a search warrant to search the car, but only recovered a black baseball cap from inside.

“I hope they find the killer that killed my son,” said McClean, “so we can have justice, and peace of mind for my family.”
