Michael Frederick Hines: Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Michael Hines is on trial in connection to the homicide of 20-year-old Crystal Stevenson in Virginia Beach.

The murder trial began Tuesday morning with jury deliberations.

Stevenson was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at a residence in the 1600 block of Gallery Avenue at 2:15 a.m. on April 5, 2015.

Hines was identified as a suspect after surveillance images with his picture were released to the public.

Investigators determined that Stevenson was at a gathering when an altercation occurred. She was shot while trying to leave the residence.

Hines was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
