Runners lace up to honor Portsmouth Coast Guard community

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The City of Portsmouth, along with Road Rage events, is holding its second annual Cutter 10K and Coast Guard 5K on August 6.

The race honors and pays tribute to the local Coast Guard community. It also recognizes Portsmouth as the only official Coast Guard city in Hampton Roads.

Coast Guard 5K participants will gather at the Portsmouth Pavilion and run along the Elizabeth River and through Olde Towne Portsmouth. Cutter 10K participants will run through the Coast Guard Base.

The Cutter 10K will begin at 7 a.m. and the Coast Guard 5K will begin at 9 a.m. Public parking is available.

The top three winners of each age group and the top three overall winners will be recognized.

Day-of registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Portsmouth Pavilion.
