NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – TMZ obtained and released video footage of the police chase and eventual arrest of former football star Marcus Vick.

The video is from an incident in April when officers attempted to approach Vick about a warrant for a contempt of court charge from Montgomery County.

According to a press release from the department, Vick was cooperative until officers attempted to place him under arrest. The release stated that Vick ran briefly, but not before pushing an officer into a counter and breaking a door.

Officers said they caught up to Vick  because he eventually stopped running and let them catch up to him.

Vick pleaded guilty and was sentenced on July 11 for resisting arrest.

Vick, 32,  had also been charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice but those charges were nolle prossed, meaning the prosecution decided to no longer pursue them.

Vick was sentenced to 12 months in prison with 11 months suspended and 1 year probation.
