NORFOLK, Va.- Norfolk Police and fire crews are working a death investigation at Colonna’s Shipyard in the 400 block of East Indian River Road.
Police say they were called to the scene around 4:05 a.m. after a worker found another worker dead on a ship.
When crews arrived on the scene they found a 54-year-old man who was unresponsive. Crews pronounced him deceased on the scene.
The man was reportedly working in a confined area of the ship conducting repairs.
First responders say there was no obvious signs of how the man died. His body will be taken to the Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.
Police are investigating this as an undetermined death at this time and say they are not looking for any suspects.
This incident remains under investigation.
