Strong to severe storms possible….The First Warning Storm Team is tracking the potential for strong to severe storms this evening and tonight. Then, our attention turns to slightly cooler weather.

All eyes are on a cold front that will sweep through the area today. While we could see a few isolated thunderstorms develop this afternoon, the bulk of the rain will arrive with the cold front later this evening and tonight. Some storms could be strong to severe, with heavy rain, gusty winds and hail. We’ll likely see a few scattered storms hanging around through the overnight, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies today. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s. Low temperatures will be in the mid 70s.

On Wednesday, a few lingering showers are possible. But we’re not expecting all day rain. In fact, a few showers are possible early in the morning, then again later in the afternoon. Otherwise, we’ll see partly sunny skies. Thanks to the cold front to our south, we’ll see highs cooling off into the mid 80s. We’re expecting highs in the mid 80s on Thursday, too, with mostly sunny skies.

The heat and humidity will return in a big way Friday through the weekend. Highs will climb into the lower 90s on Friday and into the mid 90s for both Saturday and Sunday. It will likely feel like the triple digits because of the humidity.

Today: Partly Sunny. Scattered Showers/Storms (40%). Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: NW/NE 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (60%). Lows in the mid 70s. Winds: E/N 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms Possible (30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.
