CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Donald Trump, the Republican front runner for the 2016 Presidential election, is heading to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention.

Delegates from all over Hampton Roads will be in attendance to hear more about Trump’s policies while expressing the changes they want to see.

John Fredericks, the Republican Congressional delegate for the 4th District, said he was the first media personality to predict Trump winning the party back in April 2015.

Fredericks told News 3 he is looking forward to the historically different convention because even though the entire GOP does not back Trump, Fredericks believes they will unite by the end of the convention.

Trump capitalizes on three main points:

  1. Securing the nation’s borders
  2. Getting America’s jobs back
  3. Addressing national security while figuring out how to make strides overseas or get our troops out of there

Fredericks believes these are issues that the American people care about and will unite behind at the conclusion of the convention.

The convention runs from July 18 through July 21.
