Fairfax infant’s AMBER alert canceled, suspect arrested in Maryland

FAIRFAX, Va. – An AMBER Alert was issued by Virginia State Police Wednesday for a 6-week old baby girl who was believed to have been abducted by a 31-year-old woman in Fairfax.

The woman, Flora Khatun, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Maryland.

According to the Fairfax Police Department, a local reporter received information from a source on the possible whereabouts of Flora Khatun and her baby, 6-week-old Liz Khatun.

Around 5 p.m., Flora Khatun was located with the baby in the 3500 block of Dean Drive in Chillum, Maryland.

She was taken into custody and transported to a local jail.

The baby is safe and was returned to the appropriate Fairfax County agency for care and custody.

Khatun will be extradited to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. She will be served with a parental abduction warrant, according to police.
