Three sent to hospital after crash involving Virginia Beach Public Utilities truck

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Three people were sent to the hospital following a crash between a Toyota Tacoma and a City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities Chevrolet 3500 truck.

Dispatch received a call about the crash on Saturday at around 9:20 a.m.

According to police, the driver of the Toyota Tacoma crossed the double yellow line and hit the Chevrolet truck.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital for a life threatening injury, but is in stable condition.

The driver and passenger of the truck were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

Police say charges are pending for the driver of the Toyota Tacoma. The Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating the crash.

Virginia Beach Boulevard was temporarily closed between West Lane and First Colonial Road, but now both lanes are back opened
