NORFOLK, Va. - Kenny Alexander was sworn in as the new Mayor of Norfolk on Friday morning.
The ceremony took place on the front steps of Norfolk City Hall at 10 a.m.
Alexander is the city's first African-American mayor. He was elected in May, beating out Norfolk Sheriff Bob McCabe and Norfolk Councilman Andy Protogyrou.
He replaced longtime Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim, who has held the office since 1994.
