Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast

Another severe weather threat… Today will be a very typical summer day, with heat, humidity and afternoon storms. Highs will climb into the upper 80s, near 90 for some locations. With the humidity, it will feel more like the mid 90s. A stationary front continues to linger along the Carolina coastline, keeping showers and storms in the forecast. Expect a mix a sun and clouds today with scattered showers and storms firing up this afternoon. Some storms could be strong to severe with the “bulls eye” for severe weather in central and northern Virginia. Our biggest threat will be for heavy downpours, gusty winds, and hail.

A cold front will join up with the stationary front on Saturday but the forecast sees no big changes. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers and storms for Saturday, Sunday and early next week. Every day will not be a complete wash out, but plan for scattered showers and storms to mix in, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours each day. Rain chances and cloud cover will be slightly lower on Saturday, so that may end up as the best pick of the weekend days. Expect highs in the mid 80s on Saturday, low 80s on Sunday, and back to the mid 80s on Monday.

Today: Partly Sunny, Scattered Showers/Storms(40%). Highs in the upper 80s. Winds: S 5-15

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Lows in the low 70s. Winds: S/W 5-15

Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: W/N/E 5-15
