18-year-old found shot to death in York County, suspect arrested

YORK COUNTY - York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a suspect after an 18-year-old was found shot to death.

Deputies arrested Julian Rios Saturday morning and charged him with the murder of Austin G. Baxley of Portsmouth.

Rios, 20, was arrested in the 3200 block of Western Branch Boulevard in Chesapeake. He was also charged with the use of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

Early Friday morning, around midnight, deputies were called to Crawford Road where a passerby reported a body on the side of the road.

Deputies and medics located Baxley's body near the tour road overpass.

He was pronounced dead on scene from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
