VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A man was sentenced for Forcible Sodomy and Custodial Indecent Liberties, according to the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach.

Luis A. Mota, 24, was sentenced Tuesday by a Circuit Court  judge to 30 years with 18 years suspended leaving 12 years to serve.

Mota must also register as a sex offender, undergo sex offender therapy, remain on good behavior for 30 years, and remain on supervised probation for an indeterminate period of time.

Mota pled guilty to the charges in March after the Commonwealth’s evidence proved that between July 2014 and July 2015, he sexually abused two children known to him.

The children reported the abuse and detectives with the Virginia Beach Police Department began an investigation.

In an audio-recorded conversation with a family member of the victims, Mota made statements including, “I want you to call the cops. I wanted to get arrested,” “I am ashamed. I can’t take it back. It’s not that easy. I did it. I can’t be like no,” and, “At the end of the day, I chose to do it.”

In an interview with police, he admitted to abusing one of the victims, but denied abusing the other.
