One dead, three injured after shooting in Exmore; Suspect arrested early Sunday

EXMORE, Va. – Four people were shot in Exmore on the Eastern Shore late Saturday night.

According to the Exmore Police Department, they received a call just before 7:30 p.m. about three people who had been shot in Exmore.

When officers arrived on Fredrick Douglas Road, they found two males suffering from gunshot wounds.  They were then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, 22 year-old Alexander Picott-Cleveland, then ran from the scene.

Shortly after 8:00p.m. police learned that Picott-Cleveland was at a home on Arlington Road.

When they arrived they found a woman and a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The male, 30-year old Ronald Graves of Portsmouth, was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital.  The woman has non-life threatening injuries.

Exmore Police worked together with the Northampton County Sheriffs Office, Virginia State Police and the Cape Charles Police Department to identify and locate the suspect.

Picott-Cleveland was found around 3:30a.m. and taken into custody just after 6:30a.m this morning.

He will be charged with murder, three counts of malicious wounding, three counts of use of a firearm while committing a felony, and various other firearm violations.

The suspect is currently being held at the Eastern Shore Regional Jail without bond.

The two males who were shot on Fredrick Douglas Road, have been treated and released from the hospital.
