CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A family is displaced after a garage fire caused significant damage to their home in the 3100 block of Galberry Road. Crews responded to the fire shortly before 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
According to Chesapeake Fire, when fire crews arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from an attached garage of a two-story home. Crews were able to bring the fire under control after 20 minutes.
The fire appears to have started near a battery charger in the garage.
There were no injuries to the two adults and one child in the home and the family has made housing arrangements.
