Newport News car crash leads police to shooting victim

Newport News, Va. – Officers responding to a car accident in the area of Denbigh Boulevard and Old Denbigh Boulevard on Wednesday night located a shooting victim at the accident scene, according to police.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle that the shooting victim was in, crashed into another vehicle.

Police say the man, a Williamsburg resident, was involved in a shooting that was said to have occurred in the area of Denbigh Boulevard and Warwick Boulevard. He received non-life threatening injuries to his left leg and left ring finger from the shooting.

The three other occupants of the vehicles received non-life threatening injuries from the accident.

The shooting and accident remain under investigation.
