Two dead, one injured in Nansemond Parkway crash

SUFFOLK, Va. – Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday evening in the 2700 block of Nansemond Parkway.

Just after 5:45 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a call of a head-on collision between a Hyundai Accent and a Honda Accord.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as 22-year-old Kristin Bender.

A man and woman received emergency medical assessment and treatment at the scene.

The woman was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died from her injuries on Thursday. She has been identified as 44-year-old Tracey Bender.

A man involved in the crash was driven to Sentara with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
